Safety Measures
The safety of women, our staff and the community are our priority. BreastScreen NSW have in place important measures to protect against the risk of transmission, these include:
- Precautionary questions around health
- Limiting the number of people in the clinic
- Practicing social distancing in clinic waiting rooms where possible
- A minimal contact check-in process
- The use of personal protective equipment
- Cleaning of equipment and commonly used surfaces.
Here’s how you can help us when attending your appointment:
- Stay at home if you are unwell
- Wear a mask to your appointment
- Only enter the clinic 5 minutes before your scheduled appointment
- Attend your appointment alone
- Stay a safe distance from others
- Be patient and kind, we are in this together.
Vaccination
In line with advice from NSW Health, BreastScreen NSW strongly encourages women to be triple vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible, ideally before attending their breast screen appointment. Visit NSW Health for more information.
It is now mandatory for all NSW Health staff to be vaccinated.
Breast Symptoms
Importantly, we encourage you to be breast aware and if you find a breast change that is unusual for you, contact your regular doctor without delay.
